Pinging Your Website To Get More Traffics
This seems to be one of the biggest mysteries or maybe things that folk struggle with…“Pinging” What is it? Do I need it? Some may even think it is a disease, well it’s not and it’s nothing to get hung up about. You just “do it” as Nike would say and you don’t always need to know why or how, just get it done. Pinging your website is very important and you need to make sure it is done.
So what is it? Here is the best explanation to Pinging Your Website: Pinging is a technology when the pinging process is run your blog is quickly indexed by search engines as well as bringing traffic from many other sources. What this Plug-in does is allow you to get the pinging done automatically every time you do a new blog post or create a new site.
As long as you have enabled the plug-in and set it up as I show it will work away for you. The reason you want to use this plug-in is because if you don’t your site could be being pinged often and that could get you banned.
You see the pinging it set in the default to ping every time you make a change… well some people do a lot of changes on a post and every time you save or update it is being pinged…. so easy answer use this plug-in. As I said before when you create a new post, your blog will ping and notify all the ping services telling that your blog has been updated. You DO NOT want to be Pinging Your Website too often.
This encourages search engines and different blog directories/services to index your updated blog properly. When you edit an existing post, it won’t send any unnecessary ping to ping services and saves your blog from getting “banned”.
When you post a future post by editing the time stamp, it will ping only when your post appears in future. It won’t unnecessarily ping many times when you schedule posts as Word Press does it by default.
What happens when you begin Pinging Your Website
1. Some of those websites add your blog in their directory giving you a one way link.
2. Some of those websites list your blog in their recently updated blog list.
3. Search engines quickly come to your blog, index it and start sending traffic.
4. Blog search engines like Google Blog Search, Yahoo Search Blog, etc… also crawl and index your blog which in turn send additional traffic.
5. People visiting those blog directories see your blog there and come to your blog.

6. Blogrolling scripts like blogrolling.com and WordPress check update services to see if you’ve updated and then they reflect that on everyone’s site, usually by moving you to the top of people’s blog rolling list or putting a recently updated indicator by your link.
7. Services like Technorati (http://technorati.com) spider your links to tell who is linking to you and who you’re linking to, almost in real time. If you show up on someone’s Technorati link list for their site (often called an “egorati search”) they’re likely to visit your site to see what you said, increasing your exposure.
8. Other sites like weblogs.com and blo.gs list the most recently updated blogs and many people browse these to find something new when they’re bored. So you can see when you start Pinging Your Website or Blog all sorts of things take place… the big thing is your site or blog post gets out there fast.
How often should you be pinging Your Website?
It depends really… some say 3 times a week others say more. I am not sure but do know that one should not be excessive about this… I think once to twice a week, and in saying that, I might not ping the website out a second time but maybe I will ping out a blog post...
I am not going to give a number so you do your research on it and come up with your number as I really don’t know, I know what I do and it works for me… using Pingler you can pay a very small fee and you can be get them to do the Pinging of Your Website for you automatically.
Anyway no need to get bogged down with it, just do it. I suggest you can also use another software package called Drive www.hypersmash.com More Traffic Online and it will not only do your pinging for you but will also get your site or your blog posts listed into the search engines and also do all your RSS Feeds.
So you should check that out as well.
Pinging Your Website is not hard…. Just do it….
